Tree wardens on a survey of veteran trees in Lambourne, Essex
There are more than 7,000 tree wardens in the UK. These are mainly volunteers who devote what ever time they can to caring for the trees in our towns and countryside. Here in the Epping District we have our own band of tree wardens who care for the trees that we have.
In the picture tree wardens measure a large Oak tree to calculate it's age.
By protecting these veteran trees we are preserving our history for future generations.
