This project is sponsored by Epping Forest DC, Harlow DC, GreenArc, The Tree Council, The Guardian newspaper, Essex Biodiversity and The Local Heritage Initiative.
Some of the benefits of producing this web site as meant that we are beginning to find many "Champion Trees" in the Epping Forest District.
The tree shown here is a rare wild Service tree in Apes Grove, Lambourne. The distinctive chequer pattern on the bark is a way of recognising this tree.
