Reason for nomination:
This maiden oak stands just proud of an old hedgerow on farmland to the south east of the village of Theydon Bois (between the M11 motorway and the London Underground tube line). It would appear this tree was planted with a number of others across these fields as they are all of a similar size and girth.
Remarks & Tree condition:
Photographed and recorded as part of the Epping Forest Veteran Tree Hunt (19.08.07). This tree stands on the boundary between private farmland and land owned by the Woodland Trust.
